Speed is the number of manga chapters an arc adapts, divided by its story episodes. Anime-only and recap episodes add no chapters, so they are left out of the speed. They still count in watch time.

East Blue moves at about 2.04 chapters an episode. From Thriller Bark on, the anime mostly sits near one. That is why a long arc is not always a slow one: Skypiea is long, but it moves faster than Fish-Man Island.
